I wasn’t sure what I had said to her, the conversation was entirely random, yet she listened attentively, a smile gracing her lips. I’m uncertain whether she harbours any feelings for me, but truthfully, I never felt any inclination towards her until I saw her this morning. She was stunning, particularly her azure eyes — eyes I had never truly noticed before. The fragrance she wore, her crimson lips, and the way she smiled, it was akin to a rose smiling at me. However, what I did was a mistake. She assumed it was a date, but in reality, I was attempting to uncover why she had falsely reported Steve’s death. Dave had unearthed some leads suggesting that Steve had been involved with drugs. Strangely, this information surfaced after the autopsy, and the case had already been closed. If Steve had been using drugs, it should have been evident in the autopsy report, which was conducted by Monica. Yet, there was no mention of it in the report. Dave suspected Monica’s involvement and asked me to keep an eye on her, which I did.
